David sent in this great looking Roamer – you just have to love the case, dial and hands. All in pretty good condition, but it needs a service. The crystal is also a bit scratches, so that will get a polish, too.
The case back is held in place by four screws.
The case back comes out of the case with the crystal and everything, so there will be a split winding stem.
The amplitude is very low, so the movement definitely needs a service.
The ETA 2789-1 has a day and date display.
The new mainspring goes into the barrel, after having applied the usual braking grease to the barrel wall.
The base movement is ticking again – let’s see what the timegrapher says.
Good old ETA never disappoints!
The bottom plate comes back together.
With the crystal polished, the watch is looking very swish again!
Brauche Ersatzteile für meine Roamer Rockshell Mark 3 Electronlc Armbanduhr.
Gekauft 1974.
Ein Uhrmacher hat sie vermurkst.
Ring 5/55, Zifferblatt u.a.
So ziemlich null Chance – da muss eine Spenderuhr her.
Hello,
Could you advise please , on how to access the movement on a Roamer MK1 Rochshell ?.
Hi Kingsley,
Is that something that you really want to do? Maybe a job for a watchmaker …
I have a Roamer mark ii for sale in spanking condition like new but it needs a service as not working.
… really like that seconds hand! And the bracelet, and … well, the watch in general I suppose. I guess you’re not too happy should you break the crystal, though.
As usual a good work for a beatifull watch, just in your new office!!! great
As said, very 1970’s …. I took a punt last year on a Roamer Searock, MST522 movement, with a round crystal and heavy stainless bracelet. It is currently my day to day watch as I am working on the bracelet one link at a time. Looks like the steel links on this one are nice and tight.
Surprised to find out that Roamer worked with Tissot and Certina on the later in house movements, MST 520 – 523
Very nice watch, even nicer now Christian has serviced it !!
Roger
That’s a smart looking thing – very 70s! Just my sort of thing 😉
Was the case-back missing one of it’s screws?
